POSITION OVERVIEW
The Director of Finance reports to the Treasurer and is responsible for overseeing the newly established Finance/Treasury department, separated from the accounting function to manage increasing operational complexity. This role will lead the strategic management of a debt portfolio in non-recourse Project Financing loans and cash management for more than +100 bank account. The Director of Finance will oversee Project Financing closings, Term conversions, and the establishment of sophisticated monitoring processes for Tax Equity Partnerships and dividend distributions
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead and execute high-complexity PF Closings and Term Loan conversions
- Oversee the service in non-recourse PF debt (i.e Tax Equity Bridget Loan and Construction Loan), ensuring all principal and interest payments are executed accurately.
- Lead the preparation and review comprehensive PF covenant reporting to ensure strict adherence to lender requirements.
- Approve daily cash operations and oversee the management of +100 cash accounts, including dozens of restricted reserve accounts required by non-recourse PF agreements.
- Review and manage the issuance and renewal of Letters of Credit (LCs) and manage all KYC (Know Your Customer) requirements with financial institutions.
- Establish and manage the process for calculating quarterly distributable cash and monitoring partnership shortfalls to initiate margin calls according to the
- Manage interest rate swaps and hedging strategies to protect project cash flows from market volatility.
- Develop and implement financial policies and internal controls specific to treasury and project finance operations.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
- 15+ years of progressive experience in project finance, treasury, or corporate finance, with a focus on utility-scale energy projects.
- Extensive experience in managing PF debt and complex waterfall structures.
- Proven ability to manage high-volume financial transactions and multi-account structures.
- Advanced proficiency with Excel and financial modeling for debt service and dividend distributions.
- Executive presence with the ability to influence cross-functionally and build relationships with the executive team.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- CPA or CFA preferred.
- Experience in renewable energy is preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in establishing new financial processes and reporting structures
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Regularly required to talk or hear.
- Frequently required to sit, stand; walk; use hands to handle or feel; as well as reach with hands and arms.
- Ability to work in an open environment with fluctuating temperatures and standard lighting.
- Ability to work on computer and mobile phone for multiple hours, with frequent interruptions.
- Willingness to travel.

Compensation Range: $185k-$230K
