POSITION OVERVIEW

TransGrid Energy is seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Asset Operations to lead the development and execution of the company’s Asset Management platform across various organized wholesale markets. This role involves extensive collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders to advance the company’s strategic objectives through detailed analysis, evaluation, and execution of both short-term and long-term goals in alignment with TGE’s strategic plan, vision, and values.

This position is responsible for the profit and loss (P&L) performance of TGE’s utility-scale BESS and solar assets, managing day-to-day operations, and ensuring close collaboration between the plant operations team and the commercial team.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead day-to-day operations and maintenance to ensure high performance and availability of TGE’s assets to maximize ROA by maintaining fleet uptime and ensuring compliance with various contract stakeholders.
  • Develop and accomplish tactical and strategic goals for TGE’s BESS and solar assets, focusing on resource availability and functional objectives.
  • Establish quantitative performance standards for BESS and solar assets to ensure key objectives and processes are met.
  • Ensure operational readiness and daily optimization of assets through close coordination with the Asset Optimization team and O&M providers.
  • Execute and oversee day-to-day management of operational contracts with suppliers, EPC companies, O&M providers, and long-term service agreements, ensuring alignment with strategic directives set by the Head of Asset Management.
  • Develop and implement initiatives to improve facility and overall business profitability.
  • Collaborate with other departments to support TGE’s strategic corporate growth initiatives.
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting by coordinating with TGE’s finance and accounting teams.
  • Ensure operational compliance with internal and external regulatory requirements, based on strategies and guidelines established by the Head of Asset Management.
  • Engage with industry experts, consultants, and operational personnel to support the development and integration of TGE’s enterprise-wide strategy in energy markets.
  • Organize and lead management meetings to recommend operational efficiencies for the company’s assets.
  • Hire, train, develop, and manage a team of high-performing staff.
  • Lead and manage multiple high-profile projects concurrently, serving as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide data-driven operational insights to C-suite executives to support strategic initiatives set by the Head of Asset Management.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in business, economics, finance, environmental science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in asset management, including participation in organized wholesale markets, stakeholder processes, and energy market activities.
  • Extensive experience in analyzing complex commercial and regulatory structures using data to support decision-making.
  • Strong knowledge and experience with utility-scale battery and solar technologies.
  • Proven track record of leading cross-functional project teams and managing multiple projects.
  • In-depth understanding of energy markets, including deregulated markets related to both physical operations and regulatory structures.
